It will be a straight OOB build. Paint will be Wicked Colors Pearl Black. I know most here have probably already built this kit, so any tips, tricks, cautions will be appreciated.

This is too cool, James!  I literally started this kit yesterday…lol.  Everything I’ve read and watched, it appears to be a great kit.  I will be following your build, I hope you post regular updates.  Good luck with it!

I built 2. I found it to be a great kit. The only problem I can remember was putting the body on the frame and only one of them so it was probably me.

Great. Do you have a WIP started on your build?

No, Sir, I don’t.  Over on FB I let my friends vote for the kit they wanted to see me build.  They had 4 kits to choose from and the picked this one.  Most of my updates will be over there so they can follow along.

Apparently you need to grind some material off the dash to ensure the body fits right come assembly stage, although I haven’t built one of these yet…worth doing some careful test fitting!

Thanks. I'll watch out for that.

Got the paint on it. Looks ok, not as much pearl as I thought it would be, hope it looks better after I get the clear on it. The Roush engine is almost ready to rumble.

Wow, James, you are really knocking this one out!  She is looking good so far.  I’m looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks. Well, I'm retired, so if it's not too cold out in my work shed I'll sit in there for hours working on a build. It was 55 today with the humidity around 60, not bad for painting and gluing.

You are really going to town on this one!  I’m still cleaning parts…lol.  The rolling chassis is looking good too.  Question about your model and I can’t tell from the pictures, do you have a big notch above the headlight on the passenger side fender?  Not just a seam line but a big ‘ol step?  Mine does.

I haven't noticed that on mine. But I rarely take the time to mess with seam lines. I know it makes a better looking model to clean up those lines and such, but I just don't have the patience.

The 56 Ford pickup is looking pretty sweet there James.  The paint looks pretty kewl man.  I've built 2 of these kits and have another in my stash.

Thanks Bob. And welcome back. I like this kit, probably will get another one, made a few mistakes with this one, but it is a fun kit.

Thanks man.  Good to be back.  Both my kits went together well, even the one I modified into a Pro Street.
