E St. Kruiser50 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I dont want to sound rude but I was told that Bob recently Passed away,Is this true. Not rude at all to ask. Yes, Bob our friend passed away, but we're actively keeping his memorie alive by renaming the event he established, and having a special award in his memory. Great guy and loved by all. Thanks for asking - dave

The Creative Explorer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks Dave, nice website. IF, just IF I am enough awake, I will stop by the 18th. I will arrive in Portland on the 17th around 11pm at night after a horrid 22 hour flight. But I hope my Insomnia will help me for once and stop by. I might even bring the Christine's with me

I'm the Vise-Pres again, so I help with announcements and so forth. Be fun to let them know. All the best - dave
The Creative Explorer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I sure will, but like I said; that Friday is going to be a 30 hour day and I don't know how fried I am when I wake up on sunday morning But I do hope to visit, although it will be for sure not in the morning, but in the afternoon.

Hi Erik I know it's probably an error, but you said you may be there "SUNDAY", and the show is Saturday the 18th. A Little "Pre-flight jet lag" ??? Anyway, the show goes to about 3:30 at the latest. Awards are usually about 3:00 - YES, we have a few - LOL dave
The Creative Explorer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 You are correct, and I don't know why or how, but I guessed I messed up teh days. I will arrive friday night and ofcourse it is Saturday for the event. Too bad it isnt sunday How late for entering a model? I can't compete for prices, but just want to see if I am any good.

Later - dave
RodneyBad Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I sure will, but like I said; that Friday is going to be a 30 hour day and I don't know how fried I am when I wake up on sunday morning But I do hope to visit, although it will be for sure not in the morning, but in the afternoon. If you need a ride, just give me a call when you get in. Sure will beat the bus.
The Creative Explorer Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Naah, I don't want you to get me in the middle of the night from the airport But kind offered though, Although Christine and I figured out that I have to get my luggage quickly, since the last MAX runs at 11:56 hahaha, so no delays United! But maybe we can do something with getting to the meeting, but on second thought, don't want to do that either, that would make you go to the meeting very late or you have to step out, not the best thing either. I talked it over with my G/F and she would like to meet some of my friends from the board, so there is a green light of going to the meeting and I'll bring her with me.
The Creative Explorer Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 1:00 in the afternoon on Saturday Hey Erik - Were you here in Portland for the Antique Car Collector Show last October, at Jantzen beach by the race track? Later - dave No, but I have been to a drive-in at PIR, a swap meet of normal car-stuff a little south of Portland, the NorthWest Car collector show and the Modelcontest in the aviationmuseum where the spruce-goose is. All in 2007. So I haven't been in the USA this year. sorry.

The Creative Explorer Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Basically; count on me. I will find a way. My girl is already interested, so if you see somebody very, very sleepy; that's me I probably will hang out with Rodney, so he might be the guy that can introduce us Or you will recognize the Christine's That's all I will and can bring with me
1320wayne Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Dave the new web site is great. Now you need to tell Fletch to add a link to the club forum he created so other people can find their way there as well. Right now it's only Dave and myself there.

Now you need to tell Fletch to add a link to the club forum he created so other people can find their way there as well. Right now it's only Dave and myself there. Hey Wayne Good to hear from you. There is a forum link on the website. It's sorta buried in the contact us link. I had to do a little searching to find it. After you click on contact us, then go to SABA On Proboards:Forum Click on that link and - VOILA, your there . Your welcome - dave
The Creative Explorer Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Dave, can I be a special guest hahaha I made up my mind and I need to work it out with Rodney, but I decided I am going to make a appearance and I will bring the Christine's if I can manage to get them in the airplane, the 55 Chevy and a new project; a Corvette GS. I hope though, that some glue will be available for me, since they might not get all completely unharmed through the flights.

Hey Erik What kind of glue do you like to use, and I'll make sure I have some there for you - dave
The Creative Explorer Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Normal glue I suppose, so I can attach the parts that have come off during the flights. Thanks Dave!
