This original has been unfinished for a couple of years because it was missing the headers , roll bar , and rear wheels/tires .  Thanks to the Atlantis reissue I was able to complete it with some new parts , so it's not 100% original .  I opened the scoop , filled the body seam and painted it with Tamiya French Blue , and was able to use the original decals .  It's definitely a primitive kit by todays standards but it's part of modeling history and looks great on the shelf !  I have another Atlantis Fireball Dragster and plan on upgrading it with parts swaps from newer kits .

I think it came out very nice. Your choice of color matches the cool old box art pretty good. I agree these old dragster kits were really basic.

Looks Sharp. I have seen similar ono to one cars at the Hot Rod Reunion. They are simple, frighteningly so, sometimes. You nailed the look.

Nothing wrong with that build! The old Monogram kits are pure modeling fun, and good slump-busters; just to finish a kit without overthinking it. Nice job.

Beautifully done "blast from the past"!!  You did it justice with the paint and assembly.

Thanks Stephan !

Looking good. Ordered mine last week and hoping it arrives soon. Opening the scoop as you did is the only modification I plan to do.

Thanks for this!

Thanks Robert !  Opening the scoop is really all that it needs , don't bother with the headers they are too small to try drilling the ends .
