Looks like Tamiya is releasing a 1/24 240ZG Street Custom. I half expected the brand new 2022 Z.
Cheers

Kinda sorta, but not really.

Notice the price is 17,380¥ which is roughly $165.00US. This one of those already "pro built" models that Tamiya sells. They're doing this, a Maroon ZG, and two different color McLaren Sennas this summer.

As of yet whatever the differences are between a ZG and a Street Custom (beyond the Watanabes and probably a P/E Strut Brace and turned metal Intake trumpets) are not being offered as an unassembled model kit.

Always bugged me that they pretended that was real when they rigged it to fall off lol.

Top Gear at its best was never above loosening a bolt here and there to get the laugh. The first couple of seasons were all about the facts and they're almost painful to watch now.

Oh, Tamiya-San, there really needs to be a new Z.

Now that Corvettes and Mustangs have gotten truly interesting, there's none of them in plastic.  PLEASE don't be as dense as the USDM with your national treasure.

And while you're at it, could we NOT skip this generation of Super GT cars in plastic? The current Super GT Supras, NSX's, and now the new 400Z's are really amazing looking racing cars with genuinely compelling liveries. 2022-39-Denso-Kobelco-SARD-GR-Supra.jpg2022-12-Calsonic-Impul-Z.jpg2022-16-Red-Bull-Motul-Mugen-NSX-GT.jpg

What Chuck said.  Corvette and Mustang with stand-alone full detail engine componentry too, pretty please.   TB

For anyone who's been waiting on these kits, Hasegawa has released the new tool '73 Skyline GT-R, as well as modified reissue MR-2 and Isuzu 117 over the past several days in Japan.  One side effect of the various monetary ills that are plaguing the system is our currency is super strong against the Yen, which is making the releases cost LESS than $20 before shipping.
