Who Makes the Hobby Lobby 1/4 oz. Testors Look a Like Paint?

Recommended Posts

It looks like the standard Testors product and labelling that I've known for at least ten years or so. The page says Testors. Worst product labelling ever, though. Even with reading glasses and good light I find the label nearly impossible to read.  Without glasses, it's impossible.

Why do you think it is not Testors?

It was my understanding that Testors was out of the paint business. The bottles don't have any sort of brand name on them. I'm just curious.

I read it here on the world wide, so it must be true. ?

My local Hobby Lobby's stock of Testors has been getting low and they are not restocking it. Soon I hope  they start selling Revell paint. I bought some on line . The enamel is like Testors .The acrylic's are very good.

Only place around here now that sells Testors model paint is Michaels. Last fall the rack was almost empty. Last time I was there was a couple weeks ago but the rack was almost full then.

As I understand it, they, like many other companies had just ran low on materials so they had to halt production for a while on most paint lines and the "Extreme Lacquer" sprays were dropped.

No, Testors is still alive so far. Model Master was dropped. My local hobby store still has good stock of the little square bottles but they did bring in the Tamiya LP line which very good. They now have a more extensive Tamiya line between acrylics, lacquers and rattle cans than they do Testors though. I was in Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago and their Testors rack was pretty much full as well. Talking about square bottle enamels here.

I find it amusing that their website still shows Model Master paints.  Testors (actually Rustoleum and RPM) is a giant corporation, not some fly-by-nite company ran from someone's basement. You figure they would have someone keeping the website up to date.

Boy, that’s for sure.  Very very annoying.
