OldTrucker Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 (edited) Want to build a replica of my 66 Pontiac Lemans and need taillights. Edited April 5, 2022 by OldTrucker
1972coronet Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I'm not completely up on the LeMans-versus-GTO differences --- perhaps the Revell '66 GTO could serve as the base for LeMans lamps?
Mark Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Besides the hood scoop, the main external difference between a '66 Tempest and a '66 GTO is the taillights. Nothing out there will be anything like those, scratchbuilding is the only alternative.
ChrisBcritter Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Hey Johnny - I wrote about this a while back: One addition: It has to be the Craftsman Series '59 Mercury convertible with the chrome taillights. Not an easy find but they are around. 1

Oldcarfan27 Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 I'm interested is the responses for this thread as I have a similar long term project. My parents owned a 66 Tempest hardtop, Tahoe Turquoise with matching interior. The taillights have been my stumbling block, too. I just contemplated a part to use. Would a 1/16 scale grooved brake rotor possibly provide a basis for the lights? Just thinking out loud.
