vamach1 Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) While a lot of the kits may be out of production, GrandPrixmodels website lists 733 models just under the search for Le Mans resin/metal kits. The majority are 1/43 but that is mind boggling how many kits there are to choose from. Edited April 7, 2022 by vamach1

1959scudetto Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Here are my other Le Mans participants in chronological order - most or all already posted here the other day. 1960: Ferrari GT 250 SWB (modified 1/24 ESCI kit): Noblet/Elde - 6th overall, 3rd in class: 1965: Ferrari 250 LM (1/24 Academy/Minicraft) Dumay/Gosselin 2nd overall 1966: Ford GT40 Mk II (1/24 Fujimi) Miles/Hulme 2nd overall 1966: Alpine Renault A 210 (1/24 Heller) Cheinisse/Delageneste 11th overall, 2nd in class 1967: Ferrari 330 P3/4 AKA 412 P (1/24 Union/Heller re-issue) Müller/Guichet DNF (engine) 1978: Porsche 936/78 (1/24 Tamiya) Barth/Wollek/Ickx 2nd overall 1987: Jaguar XJR-8 LM (1/24 Hasegawa) Watson/Lammers/Percy DNF (accident) Well, that's all for now - I do have several unbuilt Le Mans racers in my stash to do for the future.... 2
Gramps46 Posted April 9, 2022 Author Posted April 9, 2022 A really excellent selection of LM race cars. My favorite is the 412P if I had to pick just one. 1

Thanks, Gary - from your Vettes I would pick the Cunningham Corvette - the classic white livery with double blue stripes suits it very well. Choosing between Cobras is impossible, so I would take the AC Ace. Edited April 10, 2022 by 1959scudetto
maysula Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Hi This is a Porsche 910 from LeMans 1968 Tamiya 1/12. Thomas 2
1959scudetto Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Very good-looking 910 in after-race-condition. I have never seen a model of this 910 (Hanrioud/Wicky, DNF).
Richard Bartrop Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Heller's 1930 4.5 Litre "Blower" Bentley. Depicts the Benjafield / Ramponi car from the 1930 Le Mans. Retired after 144 laps. 4
Gramps46 Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 The Bentley is super nice and you nailed the fabric body.

Rich Chernosky Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Went to a model show this weekend at the Watkins Glen International Motor Racing Research Center. Took about 60+ of my latest completions. Rather than put all these back in the cases I left them out to be photographed. All of these were featured builds on this forum. Here are the links to these builds: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/163347-bmw-328-endurance-racer/#comment-2432405 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/162960-fia-289-cobra/#comment-2425584 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/161772-martini-porsche-934/#comment-2405413 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/157867-martini-porsche-936/#comment-2336470 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/157623-pescarolo-judd-01-lmp/#comment-2332043 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/154063-lemans-2017-ford-gt/#comment-2271157 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/153270-ferrari-330p4-spyder-coversion/#comment-2258435 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/152448-1964-ford-gt/#comment-2243737 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/167154-andretti-ford-gt-66-lemans/#comment-2501557 3

Sink marks, bubbles in the glass, more pin marks than anything imaginable, wonky engineering, not to mention parts that are just wrong. Gary responds: Despite all the problems Scott sure did a remarkable build on the Daytona.

Thanks to Scott for his reply - I've built several Italeri Ferraris and know their weak points: wheels/tires and lots of sink marks as well as omitments and simplifications in certain areas.
