While a lot of the kits may be out of production, GrandPrixmodels website lists 733 models just under the search for Le Mans resin/metal kits.  The majority are 1/43 but that is mind boggling how many kits there are to choose from.

A really excellent selection of LM race cars.  My favorite is the 412P if I had to pick just one.

Thanks, Gary - from your Vettes I would pick the Cunningham Corvette - the classic white livery with double blue stripes suits it very well. Choosing between Cobras is impossible, so I would take the AC Ace.

Went to a model show this weekend at the Watkins Glen International  Motor Racing Research Center.  Took about 60+ of my latest completions. Rather than put all these back in the cases I left them out to be photographed.  All of these were featured builds on this forum.   Here are the links to these builds:      http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/163347-bmw-328-endurance-racer/#comment-2432405

Excellent models from Scott, Gary - especially the 412 P, the '65 7-litre-Ford GT, but also the TR250 and the Cunningham - marvellous!

Awesome Daytona  - is this Tom Tanner's Scale Design kit? (It looks different than my two unbuilt Italeri kits, but they are stored away so I can't compare yet)

Scott responded:

Please tell Helmut that the Daytona is indeed the Italeri kit, one of the worst models ever. Sink marks, bubbles in the glass, more pin marks than anything imaginable, wonky engineering, not to mention parts that are just wrong.

Gary responds:  Despite all the problems Scott sure did a remarkable build on the Daytona.

Thanks to Scott for his reply - I've built several Italeri Ferraris and know their weak points: wheels/tires and lots of sink marks as well as omitments and simplifications in certain areas.
