Hello, this time I show you my latest model. There's a story to follow at the Workbench, if interested.

It started as a police toy car, friction operated. A pile of available parts came from 635csi and 750i kits, and some scratch building was also needed. The wheels are Plymouth Cuda steelies.

I'm still waiting for the 745i emblem to the trunk lid to arrive from RU, but the mail is veeeery slow/stalled for the reasons we all know.

Thanks for watching, comments are ofcourse welcome.

I like it very much! Small thing I noticed is how you went around the chrome molding with a fine black outline. It really adds to the realism and is something I will now try in the future myself. Thanks for posting

Hard to believe that it started out as a toy!

I wish they'd make more realistic toys like this nowadays, but I guess licensing has taken the motivation away from toy manufacturers.

"Why pay for an expensive licensing agreement when we can freelance our own ideas. Besides, kids won't know the difference."

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

I ordered some 745i emblems abroad, but they never arrived. Maybe they got lost somehow somewhere, I don't know.

But anyway this was a fun build, and I want to build a 635i too.

Amazing what can be done with something starting life as a toy as Ismo has shown us.

Some toys have great potential to be upgraded to proper scale models when they have a good body shell moulding.
