Have you a picture to show of your '78' grill? Does it have round or rectangle lights?

It's From the Firestone Ford pickup and has the square headlights. I'll have to take a picture of it. It will take a few minutes .

  • Mike C. changed the title to 1979 ford pickup grill for a 1973 grill.

Thanks. Thought since you were using that pic you might have one of those resin round headlight conversions. The one I bought from blue oval was useless, just riddled with bubbles. I'll make my own from the bronco grill.

Btw, the square and round headlight trucks were built side by side on the line for '78; trim level was the determining factor for installation.

I figured I would change it to '79 to simplify it. Still waiting for a nice resin '73 grill like the one Rookie Resin used to make.

I have not forgotten your request for a 3D printed one. I hope to pull the grill out of my Firestone kit and work on it this next week with the Chevy/GMC grill.

I think there are others that would like one.

After the demise of Rookie resin, (especially the '73 Ford grill) a big demand exists in the Ford truck market. I would put in an order for at least 4 off the bat. Please keep us posted on that GM Hickey hood also. Thanks! ?

Will do, the hood is ready for a test print this weekend.

Scott, any news on the Ford Grille?

With the '78 Bronco out soon, I know some will want to try to backdate the kit.

Cheers, Alan

I test printed a few today. They are very close, but still need a little work. They look great, but I am struggling to get the fit perfect. Soon, I have not forgotten.

So, I've ordered some new high quality resin, and an additive to hopefully help these print better.

Still a few tweaks to go. Once it is good, or as good as I can get, I will see if Tx3d wants to take it, if not I may see if anyone else wants it or a resin caster may cast it.
