StevenGuthmiller Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 I posted photos of this build on this forum long ago, but was never happy with the pics. Got a chance to try again today, so I thought that some of you might like to see them. Steve 9
Misha Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 What a gorgeous auto! It’s great to see more of your work Steve, done in the top notch style. I was working in a carwash as a teen back in 67 towelling off the cars when a new Pontiac came thru, what a sensation wiping down that flowing body. Hope to see more of your work soon, cheers Misha
Bills72sj Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Very high quality build. I am curious how you did the cowl vents and the method for the Bonneville scripts on the quarters.
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Looking like a real car on the street. Super! Checking out the perfect 4 speed and console. What kit company offered it? Thanks
Cool Hand Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) Awesome, top shelf quality for sure. Its no wonder you are always awarded at the contests and shows. You can go back and edit the original topic. That option has been reinstated. Edited April 29, 2022 by Cool Hand

It turned out better than I thought it was going to. Steve

ea0863 Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Just beautiful, and I am totally jealous of how nice you do your brightwork. I cannot get mine to come out like that for love or money

Kah puts Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Oooooo..Ahhhhh..67 is such a watershed year, like full-blown Customs right from the factory. Your Bonneville is a knockout, and the photographs are marvelous, thanks for posting.

espo Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Beautiful looking color and paint finish. A lot of attention to detail under the hood.

I am curious how you did the cowl vents and the method for the Bonneville scripts on the quarters. Thanks Bill. The cowl vents were just done by cutting out the holes and adding some wire mesh to the back side. Not the most realistic solution, but the original cowl definitely needed something. The Bonneville scripts were done in the same manner that I do all of my scripts. The "foil under paint" technique, which in short is the process of foiling the script before the final color coats, and then cleaning the paint from the surface of the script with thinner. Steve
