StevenGuthmiller Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 I've been going back and assessing the photos that I have of a lot of my old builds and have not been generally impressed. A lot of my old shots look so washed out, so I've began retaking some pics. It's surprising to me how much better a photographic illiterate such as myself can do with a smart phone camera over a digital camera! The colors are correct 1959 Dodge "Rose Quartz" and "Coral". happy grumpy Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 That's a real beauty Steven. Natural light is always better to photograph car models, it puts them in their real environment, and your model is so beautiful not just the color but the build and details are awesome. Like their real counterparts these models are almost gone, Please keep posting these.
Classicgas Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 You know it's not right to post pics of a 1/1 and pass it off as your model? seriously, stunning work. 1
Kah puts Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 It's not the cell phone, it's the Dodge you built, she's a knock out.
Wolf Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Spectacular! Love the colours on this car and that beautifully tinted windshield. Cheers, Wolf
#1 model citizen Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Beautiful work! The trim and badges are flawless!
Jim B Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 That looks great. Very well done. Really like those 1950s cars: big fins & lots of chrome.
peekay Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I don't have a smart phone but it does seem to be the way to go. Then again this model would look great even if an old Box Brownie photographed it.
customline Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Whoa.....this is in a class by itself. I wish I had the patience and fortitude to bring a project to this level of excellence. Just a magnificent work! There was a time when some of us thought of these '50s cars as dinosaurs and, when in disrepair, just junkers or rust-buckets . Anyone lucky enough to have owned or driven these Mopars will tell you just how great they were. They were such fun! I think we appreciate them now more than ever. Some would say they were gaudy and over-done but beauty is in the eye...?
Peter Lombardo Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Simply, I love this build. Great colors, clean execution, and sharp photos. Very well done on a rare model. Too bad these kits are not readily available today.
flamepainter Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Great looking model. It really does look like a showroom car. Nice detail, nice chrome, nice paint scheme as well. Must have taken a ton of BMF to do this one. Absolutely flawless! Jim

Nothing says 1950s America like a finned monster, awash in chrome, in fabulous shades of pastel paint". Steve

mustang1989 Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Your photography sets an already well built model off very well Steven. Beautifully done man.
