ctruss53 Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I recently finished up the AMT 1961 Impala kit. I built it as my first attempt at a lowrider. The paint job is Splash paints, black base, sparkle silver base, and then 7 different kandy colors. I went to Detail Junkees for the photo etched badges, and Lowrider Parts for the resin wire wheels, tires, and tailpipes. Oh, and this is my first post. Hi ! 4
Dragonhawk1066 Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 That's a great looking paint job! One of these years I may get the courage to try something like that myself, LOL.
happy grumpy Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Beautiful lowrider and striking colors, great job on your first post.
Chuckyg1 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 The paint is awesome. I wouldn't even know how to plan for what you did. The interior is really nice too.
Doug 1061 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Excellent paint work. I would likely end up in a rubber room if I tried a paint job like that. Great job all around.
bisc63 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Welcome to the forum, and congrats on a super clean build. Outstanding paint work. Looking forward to more.
espo Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 The intricate details of the patterns and colors look amazing.

ea0863 Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Welcome to the forum Chad! Any what a way to start off showing your skills - your painting skills are off the chart! Thanks for posting.
flamepainter Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I also am very impressed with the beautiful paint job on this '61. It must have taken a long time considering time between coats and colors. I hope you don't mind but I have saved these pictures to use as inspiration sometime later when I get ambitious enough to tray and tackle something so grand. I think I have a '63 Impala that something like this would be great on. This really is what a custom lowrider should look like (in my opinion). Great job Chad.? Jim 1
Sandboarder Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Amazing job on that stunning paint work. Nailed the Lowrider stance as well ?
TonyK Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 You captured the perfect look of a real lowrider with your model. Amazing work!
TNT Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 That is very nice. Been wanting to try doing a paint job like that. I have enough trouble as it is though.
Dave Darby Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Very very nice! @gseedsyou have some competition! 1
