CAL Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I have finished room in the basement that I recently aquired, complete with a toliet and shower. I will post some pix soon. I am in the process of finishing it up, have the paint booth installed, a plastic modeling bench, a glass top desk for RC helis, lots of storage and building a 3X6 bench/Jig for large scale flying models. I have future plans for a small machine shop area.
woodandbike Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 A lot of impressive hobby rooms posted on here.

Jordan White Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 A lot of amazing work shops, and Wayne, you have waaay to many kits! Anywho, I don't have a pic of my work "area" since I'm so ashamed of it All I have is a 3 foot tall Craftsman tool chest with a 2.5ft x 2ft work area on top.
Rich Cummings Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 This is my work area. It's only neat because it is still being set up. My wife wanted her dining room and living room back. The unbuilt kits are stored in the closet out of her sight.
Ragnar Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Hello all, I used to own a espresso stand, but that is another story. It’s 8’x12’ and took everything out but the walls and outlets. Put in a new floor, painted, added a bunch more outlets, benches on three sides and shelves everywhere. I have most of the stuff in like a small refrigerator, microwave, wall heater, TV w/5.1 stereo. You know just the basic things. I told myself I won’t start another project until this is done, is that incentive or what. Any comments or ideas are welcome. Looking forward to seeing what others look like. Wish I had your work space! That is a Great work shop! CHEERS!
kyledr330 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Thank you all for posting this thread. I can't wait to show my wife some of these outstanding rooms filled with models. I probably own 10 kits, and my wife thinks that's too many. Thanks again guys, Great building areas!
RodBurNeR Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Some really nice rooms here! I will add mine just to help the cause...Rick wanted to see some. I doubt anything I have is useful since it's only temporary because I don't own this home. here is a link to my past rooms....maybe something you can use in there Rick? http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...ld-hobby-rooms/
Nick F40 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) Man all yours are nice! I just got a 5' by 5' piece of cardboard on the floor in my room what? ok so I have a desk, i'll clean it up and take a good shot with my latest project and I am SCREWED if I get back into RCs! I like your setup FujimiLover Edited October 21, 2009 by Nick F40
FujimiLover Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Thank's, it works for me. But not as professional as I'd like. Still no paint-booth. She think's 10 is too many? She should see my Dad's RC airplane collection! She'll think that's beyond obsession! LOL! 10 is just starting! LOL!
FujimiLover Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Some of you guy's look like hobby shops the way your stacked with kit's!
Rick Forrester Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 here is a pic of walking into the space i have now. honestly i have massively too many kits! this is also an old picture and i've collected quite a bit more since. the space in my previous house was a small 10x13 room and i sometimes miss that smaller area that house i had model kits EVERYWHERE though, in the rafters, in every closet and under beds, just everywhere they could fit. the old space my favorite work space posted yet has to be the Expresso stand! love that! Dave NOW I don't feel bad. that looks like my space. that why I wanted to see other rooms. so that I could get ideas so that my room would not look like it does. and maybe able find some thing I know i got at shows. papafo

Rider Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 First off let me say there are some real nice work spaces here. My work area is a make shift area until my renos are done and we move. Since I'm pretty new here and have spent more time posting words then work I thought I should post up my work area. Plus I just figured out how to use Photobucket. My work area was a sauna up until a couple months ago. I don't work out side in the winter any more so I don't use it and it was just to ###### expensive to heat. I decided to convert it into my work room. It's only 7'x7' but being that small is surprisingly spacious. It was originally done in pine (why I don't know) by the original owner. I slapped on a coat of white primer installed electrical, a new spray/photo booth (an old cupboard) and my little heater/dryer, carpet and shelving. Just before I started the new room my compressor gave up the ghost, the reed valve went. So I had to fine something else, I found a used Delta 2 gallon compressor, super quite Anyway here's some pic of the new mess.
David@MinidreamsInc. Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 This is my hobby room ! Yet its just an open space in my basement that i have kept for my self LOL ! This what you see when you set into the basement ! Heres the around the room tour ! On the left wall work area right side of the bench I got a few more pics to show what's on my work shelf's and the bench its self but i don't want to bore your guys !And i know i dont have the kit collection alot of you g uys do but what i got is ment to be be built up or parted out ! I'M A BUILDER NOT A COLLECTOR !
kerc Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Here's where my madness develops. Just a plain plastic table in a corner of the garage. Compressor is underneath. Everything else is kept close by in containers, boxes, drawers. A SW radio for aural entertainment, and yes, I usually just turn on the lamps when working...Turning on the garage light bothers me.
