 This was one of those Darlington 500 winners I had always wanted to do but the kit availability always stopped me. I remember all the buzz when Bud decided to go small which led to other Ford builders switching from the Galaxie to Fairlanes as he had done with the Mercury nameplate going from the Marauder to the Comet. It paid off with his Southern 500 victory with Dieringer. I remember listening to it on the radio and rooting for Darel to win.

This looks great, nice work. I think I have a set of his '64 Mercury decals. He was a great driver for the era.
