AMT 1/25 scale 1967 Impala SS-427 that was built from a 1997 issue kit. Painted in Dupli-color Hampsted Green (a Honda color) and cleared with Rust-Oleum Lacquer (green label can). Excellent kit overall that required some massaging to get the body mated to the chassis. The model has all of the markings of the SS-427 model except for the "Super Sport" emblem above the taillights which should be a "Chevrolet" script. I hadn't noticed the incorrect emblem until I was polishing the paint otherwise it would have been removed. I have a couple of the newer releases of this kit which have side view mirrors but since this kit did not, I used a spare mirror from the Revell '69 Camaro. I filled the grooves in the tires with Deco-Art Cherry Red acrylic paint. The trim lines are nicely defined for foiling but since it is an older kit the chrome has some blemishes in a few spots.  Definitely looking forward to building another one of these in the near future.

And lastly, I somehow managed to reverse the correct positioning of the wiper blades which become apparent.....after the super glue dried.

Beautiful! Nice job all around; clean build, excellent finish, meticulous foil work, perfect colors, great presentation. The color is totally believable as a factory finish. After such attention to detail, please tell me you ground off the bogus "detail" from the passenger side inner fender. I always wondered if maybe they might have planned at some point to mold on heater hoses, and the idea was nixed, but someone didn't get the memo?

Very nice!

Thanks for your comments, Bruce, Mike, Harry, and Gerald. The '67 and '68 fastback Impalas are my most favorite.

Thank you, Rusty. The color reminded me of Mountain Green that was available that year and not as commonly seen on these cars.  I have to be honest and say I didn't sand off the detail on the passenger wheel housing but I'll most likely take care of it on my next build.

Good looking 67 Impala.  That white interior really goes well with the body color.  Nice build.

As others have said, beautiful paint and great foil work!  I’ll tell you something that keeps catching my eye and that is the door panel lines.  They look so clean and to me they really add realism to the model. Great job, Tom!

Beautiful looking build. The color is very close to one offered by Chevrolet at the time. Great job on the foil and clean trim. The wheel well opening are especially hard to get right along with the black lower body trim color.

Love the big 427 machine. Great that it has the all important 427 emblems. Beautiful GM fastback styling is missing on the roads today.

Thanks Robert and yes styling from that era in general is sorely missing on the roads today.

Thank you John. The door panel lines were deepened with the back edge of a slightly worn #11 hobby blade. I do all of my models in that fashion.

Clean, sweet, and SHINY ???.  Very well done.

Thanks Jim. I haven't been on here for a few months and just saw your orange '67 Impala. Looks absolutely gorgeous in the sunlight.

Thanks David, and I felt fortunate to find this color with the modern offerings from Dupli-Color. The black lower body color is not only correct for this particular model but also adds such a nice accent.

Well done. Wipers look fine, I believe they're the same.

Thank you, Lee. And I've gotten used to the look of the wiper blades.
