Tommy124 Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Hi guys, I built this old Tamiya kit that was in my stash for some 30-odd years. The body was lowered significantly and the wheels were replaced with 19 inch Advan wheels from Aoshima. Made my own exhausts too! 5
70 Sting Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Geez, that looks great. Nice paint. Good choice of wheels. Car reminds me of the Dodge Stealth.
Plowboy Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Verynice! It looks so much better with the Advan wheels! Nice work!
espo Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Beautiful looking paint work and the trim is all cleanly done.

ea0863 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Thomas, beautiful work on a beautiful car! I always loved the lines of the 3000GT (and even its slightly less favored brethren - Dodge Stealth RT). I owned two of them and drove them a hundred thousand miles each, and loved every minute! I don't recall this color being offered, but looks absolutely boss. The only thing that made the car look dated was the rim and tire combo, which left a lot of wheel well showing. You of course addressed it perfectly by dropping the stance and upping the diameters. Well done Sir!
bisc63 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 She's a looker in gray! Very appealing finish, and clean build make me wish I had an extra hand to give it three thumbs-up!
Mattilacken Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Nice build! Looks the part! Me and a friend built that kit long ago with a engine from the Dodge. It’s floating here on the forum some where. ?
Tommy124 Posted August 3, 2022 Author Posted August 3, 2022 Many thanks guys, I appreciate your kind feedbacks. On 8/2/2022 at 3:53 AM, ea0863 said: Thomas, beautiful work on a beautiful car! There was an orginal silver color available called Ascot Silver. I'm not sure, if this is the same color but at least the car in the image looks quite the same color I used: Fun fact: for the German market, there was a limited edition named after German soccer legend Franz Beckenbauer. Limited to 30 pcs. https://www.3si.org/threads/3000gt-franz-beckenbauer-edition.522560/ 1
Dragonhawk1066 Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Very nicely done! The wheels look great on it!
Roger U Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 I’ve always liked the looks of the actual car and I really like your model. A very nice build.
