crossfire 2004 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 So I finally finished up my Rusty the 3100 drag pickup, you can find the build photos in the Drag Racing On The Bench section of the forum. Pretty happy with the results considering my only reference material was the above video and a few pictures stolen from the owner/ builders Facebook page. Im thick skinned so all comments are welcome. 3
espo Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Pretty amazing looking recreation. The "paint" finish looks just like the 1:1 as does the body modifications.
Zippi Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 That's one BAD looking drag truck. Great job on the recreation of "Rusty".
David G. Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Nice replica! You've really captured the look and feel of the original. David G.
Just Jim Posted August 25, 2022 Posted August 25, 2022 Looks great. You more than met your goal of replicating the original ?
Jantrix Posted August 25, 2022 Posted August 25, 2022 Pretty cool work. I like it. You did a good job.
TarheelRick Posted August 25, 2022 Posted August 25, 2022 Not much into the Rat Rod look, but you have definitely recreated a beauty. Nice Job.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Very well done replica of a cool and interesting truck!
Lobo2me Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 (edited) Great job on the rust and patina! A very faithful rendition. You should be proud! Edited August 30, 2022 by Lobo2me Opps
Mattilacken Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 Cool! Though paint job to replicate but you did it great! Cool build!
misterNNL Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 IMHO the high angle front 3/4 pix makes the hole created by the completely missing front fenders way too large. Maybe the width of the grille adds to that look. I believe that if I were building something similar I would be tempted to add some sort of a hood side panel to minimize the look.
stavanzer Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Scoop looks a tad oversized, but a darn good replica. Good Job.
