An accurate, open, 82-86 grille for the MPC/AMT Bronco would be much appreciated. I have a complete kit from which I could supply a primed body and any other needed parts.

Though I’d prefer one to fit the MPC kit shown above, I also have the Revell/Monogram Bronco that I could also supply, if there’s interest in doing both. I’m also the owner of a 1:1 ‘86 Bronco, if that would be of help to verify measurements, photos, etc. Thanks.

Now that it’s being reissued…

So, I will be putting this in the main 3D print request thread too, but I wanted to update everyone on where I am at.

This last year was tough. I've been working with the VA on some personal health issues. My Father-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and work has been full tilt. All of these things have lead to me having to back way off of the 3D design projects.

There was a several month period that I did not even open Fusion 360 or turn on my printer. I have been slowly getting back to it. I am currently working on a 1:16 scale conversion for the Takon Jeep to a CJ2a Fire truck. This is personal for now, but we will see what happens in the future. I posted the grill above for the Chevy vans. I have also been working on some wheel options that will directly replace the wheels in all Italeri truck kits, 2 hole, 5 hole, spokes, etc.

One of my next projects is the Ford L series grill. I am back at it, but it will be slow. Bear with me.

Just a thought. I bet guys would like a nice grill for their AMT Ford Louisville cabs. I sure would! Even as a kid I thought those kit supplied grills were pretty sad.

This is what I have so far. As for the aluminum shroud, there is not a good way to model that in a way that would look right in scale. The best bet is to use whatever grill you want and BMF the outer shroud. Even if I could model it, once printed, even super thin, it would still be out of scale.

Something like this? Yes, just needs maybe to scale back the width of the sides at the fenders, looks good.

I also noted on the basic early grill, that depending on the engine you have, the grill openings are different. I am not sure if this is something that would be offered, or just the most open style.

Hi, Scott. The Louisville grills look AWESOME! I pulled out my old Ford truck book, but small black and white pictures don't show much. I found a couple snap shots of a truck my father and I had some 30 years ago. And much internet crawling. Looks like the smallest opening was gas engine trucks. The grill on the right. The truck we had was a medium duty diesel truck and it had the middle grill. I'm guessing the big diesels were the grill on the left. I hope I helped. Heck, you may have already known all this. Either way, can't wait to get my hands on some. I have four kits to use them on and a couple extra for the ones down the road.                                                                                                                                                                        Wish you well with your health and sorry to hear of your father-in-law. I too just received news of a fellow retired firefighter that has the same cancer. I don't like this getting old stuff. Hang in there.

how about this for all the unbuilt 90s Chevy trucks? with separate headlight and turn signal parts ?

1993-chevy-c1500-454-ss-cx7258-3put-0034

Or the "four eye" version

I can supply both kits. I have not considered building either of these because the kit grills are so bad, but I really want to as they are great subjects.

@OldmoparsDo you think this grill might be a possibility in the future? 672386190_ScreenShot2022-07-04at2_52_42PM.png.c94210c8056e19ab48524f5eff93a034.png.b0aea0911da7f6b4717f8287d2f57f72.png.039d3ac798f1d206a6b5404409668b1a.png

I was actually working on that one last night. It is not as easy as it looks. My first attempt resulted in a grill that just does not look right. I am going to rework it and keep at it.

Thank you for the update.

Something that would sell well and is current would be accurate grilles for the Moebius bumpside Ford pickups. The grilles in the kits are horribly inaccurate. You could make the '67-'72 grilles. Another suggestion would be the '73-'75 Ford pickup grille along with the '76-'77.

I agree... pretty obvious how far from accurate the '67-'69 grills are, but also the 70-72 grills are at least 1mm too tall. The area that needs to be sectioned is directly below the headlight lens. Here's a pic with the real 1:1 measurements...

A simpler way to do this one would be sans inserts; '71-'72 kit inserts can be cut out and sectioned by the modeler. The '70 inserts definitely need some attention from the aftermarket.

Still, nobody makes a stock Chevy van grill to replace this hideous "custom" Grill for this series of Revell vans. Revell claims these are 1/25 but most agree that they are really 1/24, so the AMT grill is too small.

Thanks Les. I'd say yes but I don't think it would fit. It would have to be 1/24 like the Monogram or maybe these.

it is monogram, there was enough parts to build 2 and loads of spare parts in the lot

This is definitely a Revell Kit, not Monogram. As such, it "Should" be 1/25 scale. I have the remains of one in my stash.

Revell has it marked 1/25 on the box but it is in actuality 1/24. A stock grill from a 1/24 Monogram Chevy van fits it pretty well. I also have the AMT Foxy box kit. When you hold the 2 bodies you can clearly see that the Revell is both bigger and wider.
