Randy D Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Hi Folks, I received this kit recently and thought I would share a what's in the box review. This is a limited run multi media kit from Michael Trape, a well known large scale model maker from Germany. A few pics of the completed model... This is a multi media kit containing every thing needed to build the model above. Kit is shipped in a sturdy box weighing in at over 5lbs. Parts list and instruction manuals .... Smaller box inside of the big bow holds all the hardware, wiring, and machined parts.. The rest is a whole lot of really nice 3D printed parts... 2
Randy D Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 Multiple sheets of photo etch... There are about 1200 parts altogether in this kit. The engine stand that you solder together is included. Pros....Everything about this kit is first class. From the instructions to all the beautiful parts. Cons...I do wish the rest of the motor would have been included. There is no exhaust or turbos/air boxes included and no transaxle. Price point is high, about $1200.00 There is a WIP thread started in the All The Rest section by Pascal from France. Hope he picks it back up as he has posted in awhile. Randy 2
jaymcminn Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Kinda makes the old "Visible V8" pale by comparison, huh?
Randy D Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 Jason, This is the first time I have not been disappointed by the lack of accurate detail in a large scale model !!!! Randy
iBorg Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Mercy.......just mercy. I kept on looking for the model picture and realized I was looking at it.
Oldcarfan27 Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 1200 dollars heh? That's about a dollar a part. I could afford one if he had a payment installment plan. One dollar per part, until I've collected them all! Heck, I might even be able to do TWO dollars at a time!✌? 1
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 In all my years of this hobby, I've never seen anything like it. To do a good job, set aside a long period of serious concentration. Considering the price of some of the poor quality 1/24-1/25 scale plastic kits on the market, this is a fair price IMO. Would wonder about the approximate dimensions at completion. A high quality glass case is a must! Thanks for posting.
Chuck Kourouklis Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Based on what else I've seen in the $1200 range, I'd characterize that almost as a bargain... ?

Randy Holy moly, that is a beauty. Too bad the high price point. I would have to sell the house. lol! Enjoy building it.
Phildaupho Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 This definitely blows my mind to use a term from the dark ages of car modeling!!
