I normally only build semi trucks, but I picked up a rollback bed from Mikemodeler and needed something to put on it. That is where this one began. I started with the Revell 64 Chevrolet. I stretched the frame and the bed is scratch built.

I think that I have this one about ready for the rollback. Now, to build the rollback.
the engine was blown and removed. It has been set on the back for the new owner.

Nice work on converting that to a 1 ton. The detail in the weathering of the bed floor is perfect. I like the story of the blown motor too.

This is pretty awesome.  Are those ST Supply wheels and tires?

Thanks! The wheels are front the Monogram Ford Dually kit (around an 88 model). The drive tires were from Scenes Unlimited, which is now owned by ST Supply, so they probably have them. The steer tires were from the parts box, out of a kit of some kind, not sure which one.

Thanks for the info.  ST does have them...I have a set en route now!  Im curious about the engine too.  It sure looks like an old GMC V6...is it from a kit, resin, or scratchbuild?

It was 3d printed from a former vendor here on the forum. Unfortunately he is no longer in business. Texas 3d Custom offers a few of the v6 engines, but I’m not sure if they offer a stock version or not.

Sorry for my delay in responding...I've been under the weather for awhile.  Yes Texas 3D has what looks like a stock version available.   They look great.  I wish they would do a 637 V8 and Toro-Flow diesel.

You know what? I work as a mechanic in a tool and machinery rental store, and I see our trailers, delivery truck liftgates and beds and even "Mechanical Wheelbarrows" (imagine a miniature dump truck box with tracks, an engine and a seat) with caved in floors between the crossmembers, and honestly, I would've never thought about replicating that on a model! Good eye, and good job sir!!!!
