Thought this might be a neat project using the re-released Dodge Van and the midnight wrecker smashed together.
Also, a small service body for the Datsun or Ford courier kits. Pictures from a Cleveland auto show many years ago.

I remember a couple of companies that did van conversions for dealers that were looking for another way to sell their van in their inventory. This was a time of tight economy and these companies had vans sitting in their "pool" that weren't selling. They would offer conversions like this to dealers to sell to commercial accounts. One drawback that they encountered was the vans unibody construction and the fact that most were either 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton units limited the weight that the wrecker boom could handle without major reinforcement of the van. Cost got so close to just starting with a 1 ton cab/chassis I think that is why so few ever made it.
