Brian Austin Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 Long ago I had a stack of custom van & truck magazines, but I ended up tearing out pages and tossing the rest. I wish I had kept them whole, especially since some of the articles posted here are incomplete.
Russell C Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 Many would recognize the "Luv Machine" as the pickup that became a Revell kit:

oldscool Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 Love those 70's paint jobs and most of the girls looked so natural back then. Thanks for posting.
stitchdup Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 Groovy man! The thing that jumps out at me is how aligned the van scene seemed to be in the us and uk. The styles are much closer than hot rods were at the time, even if the base vehicles are different. I'm sure I have some old articles and a book somewhere. I like that people are restoring these vans now, and its surprising how many seem to have survived nearly intact, if a little rusty
iamsuperdan Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 I'm reminded of the crazy story of the Wild Cherry van. aka: How to steal a van and get away with it. https://www.motorious.com/articles/news/wild-cherry-van/ 1
Mike C. Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Very cool! I really love vintage car and truck magazines. People just don't seem to do stuff like that to vehicles anymore. Thanks so much for posting these photos. I can get a lot of inspiration for future builds from these. I'm working on a 70s van right now. ?
Spex84 Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Thanks for posting these! I'm too young to have been there, was never into vans, never had access to magazines that featured them (and am not inclined to go and buy vintage mags with vans in them) so it's actually really fun to scope these scans as a change of pace. Lots of over-the-top tacky stuff but it's fun too. I'm a fan of the chopped fat-tire F100 trucks.
