Hey guys,

This is my first post and also first build. I recently got my hands on a kit my father had when I was a child, so pretty near to my heart. Bob Glidden was his favorite racer of the time and as you could probably guess, he was mine as well. I had a chance to meet Bob, Rusty, and Billy Glidden all on separate occasions throughout my life...so hopefully I don't botch this kit too bad. I'm only doing some basic modifications. Turning the Boss engine that came with the kit into a fuel injected ProCharged situation. No fancy airbrushing, as my wife won't let me spend extra money on an airbrush lol. I'll continue to update as i go forward, but this is where im at. Any feedback is welcome. Hope you all are blessed.

That Thunderbird is looking good.  I was always a big fan of Bob Glidden.  I loved to see him go up against Warren Johnson and betting him.

Looks real good so far.I too was a huge fan of the late great Bob Glidden.I met him,and got an autograph at E-town back in the 90s.But of course i lost the autograph. Are u going to paint it in the Motorcraft colors or some other paint job?U can actually pick up a decent inexpensive air brush gun at Hobby Lobby,or even Harbor Freight…Keep the pics coming.?

Looks like you’re off to a good start.  Super guy, Bob Glidden.  I first met him at a service station outside Columbus, Ohio after a points meet there in the mid 60’s.  He was driving this rig ( not my photo).

I'm actually thinking of candy lime pearl by tamiya but my mind isn't completely made up. Definitely something simple and not the original. Even thought of a color similar to Fletcher Cox's Gold Dust Fox. ??‍♂️

He truly was a stand up guy. Somewhere in my archives is a picture of myself, him, and Rusty...and another with Billy...but I've not a clue where to find them. 30+ years and 10+ moves ago...I'll find them one day.

Some of my earliest memories of being at the track were watching him and WJ go head to head. Awesome rivalry.
