thebavarian Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 This is a kitbash of the Tamiya SL500, the Tamiya AMG rims and some parts of the Revell SL300/24V. I want to built a replic of my own SL320 convertible, what is standing in my garage since 11 years. But you can only buy the kits of the standing above models. So I only use the rear seats and the engine block from revell. The antenna ist scratch built, my car has a phone in it and I need this special one from the early 90ties. The color is original mixed from Zero Paints in Great Britain according to the color code of my car. The air intake, the oil dipstick and the license plate are scratch built and printed like you see it at the original. My car is now 29 years old with 100.000 km. I buyed it with 65.000 km. Enjoy the pictures. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The hardtop belongs to the car, but it was used ony one time till now. So I have no picture from the great car. Â Â 10
70 Sting Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Honey I shrunk the car! Â Very well done. 1
Hi-Po Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Outstanding! Beautifully done and spot on with the details. 1
happy grumpy Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Wow Thomas, this is one hell of a nice replica. you should take a forced perspective showing both cars the same size, it would be hard to tell which is which. 1
cobraman Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Looks like you nailed it. I like the way you took the photos too. 1
Bruce Scully Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 This is a great looking build, so nice. 1
beeRS Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 How fantastic to have the ultimate reference resource when building a model. Beautiful model, and beautiful 1:1 car too. 1
Anglia105E Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 That is one very nice build of your Mercedes SL 320 Thomas, and the Zero Paints colour is accurate of course. Nice detailing also. Well done ! David 1
Tommy124 Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Hi Thomas, well done on the model and the 1:1 does not look bad either! ? Glad you had to take only some engine and interior parts out of the Revell kit, as this is notorious for being one of ROG's worst kits ever... 1
thebavarian Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 @Tommy124 The rest of the kit endet in the trash. It was really bad.
e30lover Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Beautiful SL320 and equally beautiful kit! You really nailed the two tone silver look there. 1
iamsuperdan Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Super nice build, and great photos! Â Â 1
