Daniel Lynch Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Hi, there is my latest built, an 1984 Chevy ElCamino, i use the AMT '86 SS kit, and i switch the body for an non SS one like 83 or 84 body style, the seat is coming form the Trumpeter 78 Monte Carlo, the color was Crismon Métallic and 1984 GM color in PPG base-coat clear coat paint. Thereis my 84 ElCamino... Daniel
fordh8r Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Very nice El Camino, indeed. I think I have one of these on the shelf, somwhere. Looking forward to getting it together...................someday.
horsepoweraddict Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 nice clean build. So are saying you used the 86 el camino choo choo kit and it came with the stock nose in the kit? Personally I prefer the stock front valance over the monte carlo one on the el camino.
87 Grand Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Man you nailed the perfect camino. The finish is stunning and your choice of a stock camino is great. I did one like this some 20 years ago. I don't remember what the maker was, but it was the one that came with the Ranger bass baot. Wish I could find another one. Again great job on your build, it looks fantastic!!

I use the AMT kit for the interior and chassis, the body is coming from an built-up Monster Truck model, then have with an 83/84 ElCamino body, hi didn't know the name of that kit. Daniel

Thanks, this kit with an bass boat is from Revell, it's an 78 with a V6, this was re-edited few year ago into the Lowrider series, it's was also possible to built in stock version. Cool! MPC also made an ElCamino from that era, 1979 into "Royal Knight" (something like that), converted into 1980 and after transformed in to an GMC El Diablo, this kit was the base of the AMT '86 SS. DR Dubois Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Very nice El Camino. Very clean build and gorgeous paint!
Jordan White Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Beauty! I have the 3 n 1 El Camino kit and the Choo Choo kit. The 3 n 1 kit was fun to build (came in Black Knight/SS, Custom, and lowrider version), especially since it came with turbocharger (I believe) and topper. Speaking of the bass boat, I have the kit with the 80's Dodge Ramcharger and bass boat. Great kit but I wish I could rebuild it again...(built it back in the low-quality days )
rollinoldskoo Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 MPC made the 82-end El camino front clip only available in this kit and the monster truck kit.... i believe they destroyed the mold to do the SS front..... oh and its in 1:25 scale not 1:24 like the revell/monogram
