Jeep TJ Rubicon custom 1:18

My son recently bought a 2003 Rubicon, and I decided to give him a diecast model of his vehicle as a gift. The closest I could come to his black on black hardtop was a Maisto Sahara TJ with a brown top and beige interior, so that's what I started with. What you see is:

- 3 1/2" lift in scale,

- rims repainted black and trimmed with Molotow chrome,

- bare metal foil on grill,

- top repainted black,

- interior repainted two tone gray, 

- "Rubicon" decals on hood,

- Subdued American flags covering Sahara logos on sides,

- Steps removed from sides, 

- Antenna redone with piano wire.

It didn't come out identical to his vehicle, but as they used to say in the old days, "it looks good from a trottin' horse".

Great looking TJ. He'll have fun keeping that clean if he is Wheel'n at all.
