PatW Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Just finished, showing the aircraft and the two smaller items that came with the kit, a Jeep and a Field Gun. The rear doors have rubber hinges so rest partially open. 1
OldTrucker Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Looks good! Brings back fond memories. When we were kids would hear them and run outside to see them go over. Headed south and then later in the evening headed back north following US45. Found out years later they were flying freight and mail from Chicago to Champain .
TarheelRick Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Very nice build. Sometimes referred to as the "Flying Coffin". One landed at the base I was stationed at in Thailand. It was painted flat black and needed major repairs for some bullet holes through the rear stabilizer.
PatW Posted October 15, 2022 Author Posted October 15, 2022 Thanks guys. We had an American base (Upper Heyford) nearby until recently and we have heavy British transport now also nearby at Brize Norton. It's all new heavy transport, big and load!
spencer1984 Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Excellent work, I alwys liked the look of these!
PatW Posted October 29, 2022 Author Posted October 29, 2022 (edited) Thanks guys! Best was only painting the orangey bits on the plane and brush painting the gun and jeep! Edited October 29, 2022 by PatW
