#1 choice would be to visit an auto supply store and they probably would have Chevrolet Engine Red spray paint. There are several ideas used by members here on what they use for red paint for a Chevrolet engine. I usually use either Tamiya TS-86 Pure Red for a spray paint or X-7 red in brush paint. Testors used to offer a brush paint that they listed as Chevrolet Engine paint but may be hard to find now. I'm sure there will be othewrs that will offer some other options to consider.

I should have asked what year model of Chevrolet engine you are trying to represent. The V8 engines in the '55 thru around '58 were a darker shade of red and sort of dull looking.
