58 Impala

[Horrorshow]

AMT 1958 Impala kit. 100% box build. Wanted a bright orange paint but this rookie used grey primer. I had some trouble with the opening doors and spent a lot of time on the bare metal foil.

Looks great. In your pictures the red looks a lot like the shade Chevrolet was using at the time that was sort of an Orange/Red anyway.

That is one fine looking 58 Gasser.  Many people overlook these full-size cars, but they are used quite often. This '61 was at the Southeast Gassers show last year.  There was a '58 there this year (didn't take my camera) but he won the B/Gas class.

It may not be the bright orange you wanted but it still looks great !  I've built a couple of these kits but don't think I've ever seen one built using all the drag parts  , it's really cool looking !
