Kinda cool to hear Chris call out Dan Pitts on his personal 55 gasser in the video. He made sure to give credit for the design. I think it was cool to see a company use a design from something that's already in real life.

In Fact, this kit was done exactly the way I had hoped Revell would do the '66 Malibu Flip-nose kit.

Rubs me the wrong way, I tell ya! ?

On the other hand, this kit is Superb, and the parts are all 1/24, so they will drop into the '66 Malibu with ease. So, Kudos to Revell for getting this one exactly right!

The big story here is everything you need to build the Bad Man is here except for the decals.

And Dave has this part Right to! Go get you Aftermarket Decals and some transparent Red Paint, and you have a fresh "Badman" kit.

I could be wrong but I thought the original issue Badman had clear windows and the Red tint glass was added in 97 (re-issued in 99 and agian in 2012) for the Rebox and New boxart? Maybe someone with more knowledge could confirm or deny this?

Either way I agree with the comments although I think the Malibu wheels are OK and wouldn't use the slots anyways. My plan for the Malibu is to use the Cragers from the Elcamino, those are 24th scale and look Awesome on the Chevelle.

The Badman was originally released in 1969 and it had red windows. At some point in the 1970s the windows switched to clear...likely when the original illustrated box was replaced with the familiar photo box as shown in your post.

Thanks for the Badman history, I seem to recall a separate side window option from an early 55 Chevy issue floating around in my parts box many years ago. I wondered if they were from the original Badman? Or was the glass always one peice?

The Badman glass has always been one piece.

Here is a decent scan of the decals in the 2012 Badman and a look at the tires from that kit also. My belief is that these are the Drag tires included in the new re-issue too.

Yep, and the original 55 the Badman was based on didn't have the side windows either.

I'm currently soaking paint off this original build up. I plan on re-creating his original 60's mild-custom build as closely as I can. I'll be scratch building a custom front bumper pan also as the original was missing from the car when I acquired it.

One thing I noticed straight away was the OB carefully cut that front valance off. He did a nice job but that modification doesn't fit the build style. I'm not sure if there was something else he had glue on that's missing or not.

According to the original directions, there was a roll pan and two custom side bumpers but the valence is molded on under the marker lights. So it's a mystery to what he was thinking at that time... ?
