TonyK Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Not a great kit to build but after seeing other builds on here I decided to go for it. Many fit issues and the wheels and tires don't even begin to fit one another. The decals were hit and miss on staying together or falling apart. Just happy to have it done. 2
vamach1 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Looks very nice. I need to get back to my build and finish it. The paint scheme is challenging but worth the effort.
randyc Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 I'm working on this one and you are very polite in your description. I would call it a steaming pile of poo. I could not recommend this kit to anyone. Great job building and painting.
vamach1 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 It’s not a great kit by any means but I wish AMT or MPC would have made an attempt to do a T/A version of a 69/70 fastback. The MPC Super Stocker was the only kit I remember that deviated from a replica stock Mustang. Making most every thing from scratch is no fun turning a street car into a road course racer. I put my Tope build aside while working on some other projects and should get back to working on it again next month.
Dragline Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 You pulled it off somehow T. This kit is frustrating to builders of all stripes. As you mentioned the ill fitting wheels I recall several other items. You not only survived but came out the other side with a brilliant build.
TonyK Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 Thanks for the nice comments. The similar experiences from others makes me feel a little better that it wasn't just me failing on the build. I noticed my pictures show the ill fitting hood even though I worked on it trying to get it to fit right. I swear it fit better than the picture shows. Maybe I didn't shove it down well enough.
bbowser Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Looks great! Warped hoods seem to be a common problem, I've never had much luck straightening them out.
