bluestringer Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 This is the Dodge Charger from the Fast and Furious movies. Nice looking kit, but I don't know if I'm going to paint it black like it was in the movies. Hope to start on it soon. All comments welcome. Thanks for looking. 1
slusher Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Cool James I’m on board. I am a fan of the series!
Zippi Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Nice looking kit James. I saw this kit at HL the other day when I was there.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 It's a pretty nice kit that would look good in any color. 1
bluestringer Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 I think light green looks good on the Mopars. Think I will go with it. Got some of the engine done.
bluestringer Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 Some interesting facts about the Charger in the movies. They were 3-5 cars used. The first shot of the car in Dom's garage has a 592 Hemi that was only used for that shot, after that it was returned to the builder. The actual engine used in the movie was a 440 Big Block with a fake blower, and the sound was not from that engine, it was recorded from a Hemi and used in the movie. 1

bluestringer Posted November 27, 2022 Author Posted November 27, 2022 Well, I wanted to go with the light green but found out I didn't have enough. I had just ordered some paints but did not get any green. I did get this sky blue, so I went with it. Looks ok I guess, I'll let it cure for a few days and then put on the X-22 clear.
FLHCAHZ Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 I dont know how I missed this. Looking really good so far!

bluestringer Posted December 4, 2022 Author Posted December 4, 2022 Calling it done. This build was going along good until the end when it was time to put frame and body together. It would not fit. The front is way too high and I can't figure out what's wrong. It's as far as it will go. At least I think I'm improving on my painting. Thanks all for the comments. I'll post some pics in under glass.
KWT Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 (edited) If this builds like the 69, there is a small "lip" I believe on the interior bucket that needs to be trimmed.. or firewall... prevents the 2 pieces from joining. Been a while since I built my General Lee, but I remember something in that area. **edit** If memory serves... and it probably doesn't... I think "lip" is on the back of the firewall. And that stops the floorboard from setting up high enough. Edited December 4, 2022 by KWT adding info... hopefully 1
