jdcar32 Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Here's an AMT 1951 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe converted to the lower priced Custom model : de-chromed, door panels modified by removing arm rests and pleats. Frame has added suspension details and full fuel and brake lines, also e-brakes. Trunk and doors scribed open, spare tire well modified to actually hold a tire. Tires are parts box, bigger diameter than kit tires. Paint is Tamiya rattle can military semi flat grey/green top coated with Mr. Clear to resemble Chevy's Aspen green. It's been years since I've posted, thanks for looking. 10

This is precisely why I'm such a fan of Showroom Stock despite the fact that it seems I'm not inclined to attempt it myself. It's the shear skill and discipline required to do such spectacular replica work that I admire. Bravo! 1
Jim B Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Fantastic build. Really beautiful Chevrolet. 1
modelercarl Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 That is the best 1951 Chevrolet model I have ever seen. I am familiar with this vehicle because my parents bought that same car in fall 1950. It was in the lighter green and not as shiny. Your model really brings a lot of great memories! 1

Spex84 Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Holy smokes, an AMT '51 Chevy never looked so good! The detailing is nuts. I keep seeing new features...and are those functional hood hinges? wow! Incredible work. 1
70 Sting Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Can’t add anything more to what’s been mentioned above. I’d be tempted to display that model upside down… incredible job on the chassis.? 1
