Street Rod Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 That’s one of the coolest builds I’ve seen yet! Unique and imaginative, great job!
stitchdup Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 very cool, even the interior looks more boat than car
Straightliner59 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 So very cool! A great manifestation of an excellent and unique idea. Kudos!
Nosferatu Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Excellent work! I love these type of creative boats! Dave
Smitty Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 This one really made me smile. I love the mid-century design influence on the interior!
mr moto Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 THANK YOU, EVERYONE!!! I'm kind of blown away by the reaction and all the great replies. It's really kind of a simple build and just done for fun. I have to say that I see much better work by so many of you every day on this very site so I just can't tell you how much it means. I have a little history with the car/boat thing having done one before. Here's a few shots of the pair of them sitting on the workbench and in the spray booth. The other one is called the "Hydro Hawk". It's made from a Jimmy Flintstone (I think) resin 1951 Studebaker and the old AMT 3 in 1 speedboat.
Lobo2me Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Very cool! I can just see you guys crusing Lake Ponchtrain in this baby. Very well done!!!!
Bills72sj Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I admire your imagination AND your craftsmanship.
doorsovdoon Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I love it! Looks like something that would have actually been produced!
Lunajammer Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Even some nice boat colors. What's not to love about this? Well done.
happy grumpy Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Not only is it a great idea but it was it is done with great craftsmanship. Excellent job sir.
ybsluos Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Manuel this is very clever and well executed !
Maindrian Pace Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Both of them look great, and both look completely plausible as functional water craft. Seeing that Corvair on the lake would be a real mind blower for sure, and it's amazing just how well the Studebaker roof lends itself to the boat style.
TimKustom Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Great creativity and execution! The Studebaker Boat is very impressive.
