speedy5963 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Happy Sunday all, this build had been in the WIP section for some time, my daughter has been working on it off and on for over a year around school and pool league. She got the build wrapped up this week. Overall, it the kit went together pretty well, I was thinking she would have some issues when it came down the grills and bumpers, but they all fell into place pretty easily. The model itself is built mostly with the kit supplied pieces. The idea for the build came from us all being fans of the Batman movies and fans of the Joker character. We saw the kit and thought about building it similar to the box art but wanted to dress it up a little. With the Joker, you kind of associate the green and purple in his attire but Bell wanted to tie in white and red from his face makeup. That is where the whitewalls and steel wheels came in along with the pearl white seats. The original plan was a fatter white wall, the newer 32 Ford donated its steel wheels and tires, but she had issues with the whitewall decals, so we stole some thinner white walls out of an AMT 65 Pontiac. The body is sprayed in House of Kolor's Passion Pearl and Limetime Green then covered in Deltron 3K clear. The interior was shot in the same bases, the seats were shot with HOK Snow White Pearl, she used green flocking for the carpet and some purple over the top of the dash. Some exhaust ends were added, made from some tubing and black wash was applied to the grill pieces. She took the model to the NNL West yesterday was super happy to receive the youth award! Onto the next builds, she has a Revell VW she is working on and wants to build a Revell Merc or one of the 29/30 Fords for the upcoming West Koast Kustoms show coming up in Santa Maria!
