Jim B Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I have the Revell Corvette C7.R kit, but I really don't want to paint it yellow. I found this conversion kit: 2016-19 Corvette C7R Upgrade resin kit for 1/25 Revell C7.R plastic ki| The Model Car Channel Store To do the 2018 Corvette C7.R from the 2018 6 Hours of Shanghai. Has anyone used it? What can you tell me about it? Thanks.
Leo64 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I bought that conversion kit, and have built most of the model, only have a little bit to do to finish it up. It is a really nice conversion kit, and the instructions they give you give you all the info needed to fit the parts. the only recommendation I would give is after gluing on the front clip piece I would back up the seam with some thin plastic. I had to do a move last year and had the body packed pretty well, but it got bumped or something and it broke apart. If I had backed it up I think it might have held together better. Also, I would test fit the headlight lenses to the body before painting to see if you have the front clip lined up good, so you can make any adjustments. The Indycal decals are really nice to work with too. If you have any other specific questions just ask and I'll try to help you out. Steve A.
Jim B Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 Thanks for the info, Steve. That Vette looks great. I might just have to bite the bullet & get one.
64SS350 Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I eyeballed the kit when he first listed it on eBay, wasn't sure about the detail. Recently he has listed a conversion for the GT 40, to the X-1 Roadster. Now that you listed his website, I somehow pulled the trigger on that one. Thanks for that!! LOL. I'll report on that one when it comes in.
Jim B Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 He also has an upgrade for the Revell 2019 Ford GT. Just the rear diffuser.

I thought of something else if you want a challenge instead of painting the Corvette yellow. Scalemotorsports makes a couple of decal sets for the C7R Corvette, and there is a lot of decals to do if you chose to get one. I bought both of his decal sets, and like the trans kit that I almost have done, these two are at about the same stage of completion. Here is the links to the decals from Scalemotorsports: https://scalemotorsport.com/collections/templated-carbon-fiber-decal-sets/products/c7r-full-carbon-jacket-cft https://scalemotorsport.com/collections/camouflage-waterslide-decals/products/pratt-miller-test-mule-full-camo-body-wrap Steve A.
64SS350 Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Here's the conversion kit for the GT 40X-1 roadster, will need lots of prep work, multiple pages of instruction with pics.
