BlackSheep214 Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Funny though.... it's always the same make and model of muscle cars and trucks of years past. I mean how many Mistangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Bel Airs can we stomach? Never anything out of the ordinary we don't see too often. Throw in a Buick Wildcat, a mid 60s Dart or even a 'mid 60s Oldsmobile Riviera. However, I do enjoy laughing as I watch bidders get into a bidding war. For once I love to see a third bidder pull a fast one outbidding the bids over what the first two bidders are fighting over.
NYLIBUD Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) Yea your right.Like I said, there were so many HIGH priced $$ Broncos,Blazers, and Corvette resto mods,I could throw up?.And as someone said, all the Eleanor Mustangs too.? Edited January 31, 2023 by NYLIBUD
NYLIBUD Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 Oh here’s one for the books.Just saw this story to make you laugh.A 1979 Trans Am with only 37 miles on it sold for $220,000 at Barrett.I mean yea that’s incredibly low miles, but come on $220,000?.Idk I must of missed that one.
BlackSheep214 Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) $220k is what I call stupid money by fools. Edited January 31, 2023 by BlackSheep214
Mike C. Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 I'm pretty sure thats from a contractor that had a really good year and bought everybody in his family a Trans Am that year. That was the story I saw them tell.

Mike 1017 Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 These millionaire car collectors just manipulate the auction market just like the stock market. Paying that outrageous money for that Camaro they have created a demand for that type of Camaro and increasing the value of his own collection. I do LUV watching all of the auctions. Mike 2
1972coronet Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 I recall a time when nobody wanted any vehicle produced after 1970-1971 insofar as "collector value". I used to buy Darts, Dusters, Valiants, etc., etc., for dirt cheap -- now these clowns want six-grand for something that looks like it was exhumed from a salt lake! Oh, but to think what my 1970 Ranchero GT would "fetch" at one of these auctions these days...
Mike C. Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 When my dad was in business, we must have had 10 of those Chevy C-10s, K-10s, a '71 Suburban. a '72 Suburban. A squarebody K-5 (ex-police truck) Blazer. and a hand full of Fords. F-250s, F-150s. When he got out of the business, he sold everything through a huge construction auction house. Those trucks would all be worth a fortune today. 2
89AKurt Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 ⬆️ Truth! This Blazer is nice, but not original. (picture stolen from Fakebook) My '68 rust bucket is just fine, I would be scared to drive a trailer queen around the block. I should be scared to drive my pickup into the wilderness, so I should talk. ?

Most had fuel tanks in the back for the equipment. we had a small junk yard out in back of the shop with more for parts and a small Mack junkyard we had a lot of Mack trucks. 1
Mike C. Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I can only remember one Blazer (probably like a '75 or '76). The former police vehicle. My cousin was a cop and he got it from the cops after the used it all up. My dad put a snowplow on it, and it became a part of our snow removal fleet. Total rust bucket.

Hey... if it still runs why not! ?
