I got the hole cut in the hood.  Not sure if I'm going to leave it or cut it out straight.

Looking good. Like the way you cut the hood around the blower and pully.

It looks good cut around the blower & belts.

Thanks fellows.  I think I'll leave it.  The custom black green I mixed up didn't turn out like I wanted.

Looking good!

Any tips/tricks on cutting open the hood? Have one to do and wondering the best way to go about it.

Well...what I did was take some measurements and mark out where I wanted to cut.  Mark the opening smaller than what you want as you'll be sanding to clean up the opening.  I use a #11 blade and go slow.  Just keep going over your line until you see the cut line on the opposite side.  Flip it over and finish your cut.  Hope this helped.

I did some paint testing this morning.  It was 48° outside and the humidity was 73%.  With the heater running in the garage it was about 72° and the humidity was around 48%.  I shot the spoons with no primer with the custom Tamiya acrylic paint I mixed up which I'm calling Extra Black Green.  This paint goes on flat until you hit it with the clear.  After painting I put the spoons in the Dehydrator for about 1 hr 10 min at 113°.  I then shot the Tamiya X-22 clear on and the spoons are once again in the Dehydrator for another hr or so.  Whatya all think about the paint color?

Hmmm, looks black in the pics Buddy.  Take pics in the sun.

Yup, that's why it's called Black Green.  I just mixed it to be a little blacker.

I got the paint on the body.  I think it came out pretty nice.  Keep in mind now, when I hit it with the clear is will shine like a new penny.  Just like the spoon test I did.  I'm shooting for Monday to get the clear airbrushed on.

Nice job Bob, the flat finish looks very smooth, the clear will turn it into a real candy!

Thanks man.  The Tamiya color is called Black Green but since I mixed in some gloss black I'm calling it Extra Black Green.

Fun project! I’ve done two trucks based on the Foose pickup so far. I love that chassis so I picked up a few more on 40% off weeks.

Yup, can't have enough of these kits.

Looking real fine Bob! I believe that pictures don’t do it justice? The only place I see a hint of green is on the spoon handles. Hopefully you can get some good pics in the sun sometime.?

All I can say is that I hope to some day be able to get paint jobs like that one! Even without the gloss it is spectacular.
