M W Elky Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 The Omni inspiration started when I saw this unwanted snap kit on eBay. So I decided to give it another chance as a lesser built Sox & Martin car . I also found a 3-D printed 1978 challenger body also on eBay, and thought both of these bodies could work with the mpc Vega as a donor kit for the chassis and interior tub. So far the paint jobs came out pretty good although I had some bleed through issues on the Omni. The interior tub fit really good I used the Omni dash on the Omni and will use the Vega dash for the challenger . The Omni will get a 340 engine. The challenger will be built as a curbside. As I found the 3-D printed plastic very hard and brittle to cut. I’ll have to move the front wheel wells forward on both builds. 2
dwc43 Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I don't know about the Omni, but the whole front end comes off the Challenger and it's still sporting a Hemi in it. 1
bytownshaker Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 They both look Great Micheal. Love early years of Pro Stock.
catpack68 Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Nice! Looking forward to seeing the progress on both of them. I’m planning on building a curbside version of the Omni later on this summer.
Altered Ego Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 The Omni is super cool, but the Challenger is way too cool. I can't wait to see how these turn out.
dragcarz Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 These are coming along beautifully, very well done, I actually owned a Challenger, it was made by Mitsubishi and a great little car.
