My 2023 BRGB will be a Kenworth T600A (after much digging thru my stash and deliberating) on truck for my four axle trailer project. I will be adding the third tag axle from KFS, possible fenders for the rear axles from Keystone, frame stretch to accommodate third axle. Undecided if I will use fairings (have a couple different styles) or redo the front fenders (add lower extensions) and have exposed battery boxes and fuel tanks. We will see, this kit has a lot of issues, including the wrong rear suspension for the T600.

Very true.  The kit is essentially a 1990s-ish cab on a 1970s frame & engine.  To make an accurate T600, a lot of things need to be changed.

What are some other things that you would change?

Well, as you mentioned, the rear suspension needs to be updated.  I'd use the rear suspension from the AMT K100 Aerodyne. The front suspension needs to be updated.  The NTC350 (or whatever it's supposed to be) is archaic by 1990, so my plan is to put a Detroit Diesel Series60 in mine.  The double stich transmission needs to be replaced, and I think the interior could use an update (but I'm not sure on that one).  Maybe a more modern steering wheel & dash could update the look.

Thanks for the input, that helps. I actually have the K100 I can steal from and a Detroit, not sure about the front suspension update. Was there ever a twin turbo Detroit offered from the factory in any truck?

I think he will be ok on the interior tub just need to add slam lock door handles. I drove a 1992 that still had the “ Tuck n Roll” or as Kenworth advertised Splendor option interior it was pretty cool.

What trucks would have had this engine?

The long nose GMC 9500

The long nose Chevy 90

Chevy Titan 90

GMC Astro 95

Kenworth K-100 Cabover

Kenworth W-900 ex cowel and ex hood

Peterbilt 359 ex. hood

Peterbiilt 352 Cabover

International 4070A Turnpiker

White Freightliner Powerliners

Brockways

Mack 700s

but they were mostly used in marine use. If your looking for this engine in 1/25 scale it’s in Tyrone Malone Super Boss kit.

You might also look at the lift axle, KFS is 1/24 and the first lift axle I did used one of those.  It was way wider and needed narrowing.

I have two or three different lift axles to choose from, so yes I will take a look how it fits or use a different unit.

Progress, built and installed the correct suspension in the rear, used correct front axle, stretched frame, tag air axle roughly installed. A quick mock-up. 70FBA540-E0F2-43D5-88F9-17E50D7AA600.thumb.jpeg.0f4b550b56b07ff604b77742374dd9b0.jpeg54A96D0E-64D6-487B-A284-79E397E54C45.thumb.jpeg.112207e8517e6c9df66d65afe645e8a1.jpeg

I like the addition of the 3rd axle. I like all the fairings myself IMO, they give the truck a sportier look.

Yup, I agree on the fairings on the newer style trucks.

Mocked up one more time using the aero skirts from the Canepa kit, a set of wide singles. Think I will try to make rear fender from scratch but I am going with this idea. 9C6B0360-E306-429D-9B73-A75D6BF6B56B.thumb.jpeg.074bb749ec60513d867021f818aff41a.jpeg

First time building rear fenders from scratch, think I will thin the face down just a little more but I did match the curve of the fairings. Also needs a radius on the edges , see where this goes  C9FD3916-5FF0-45F2-B263-DD80C088BA51.thumb.jpeg.53dd6a06cddabc6319cf125753734e48.jpeg
