Dutzie Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 Thanks everyone! Hopefully I will have more updates this weekend.
David G. Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Fabulous work so far! I think the color combination will look great. David G.
Dutzie Posted March 27, 2023 Author Posted March 27, 2023 Just a quick mock-up. Doing some touch up and detail painting next. Starting to come together now. Printed some 5 hole Budd wheels and tires for the rear. Just realized my hydraulic cylinder is upside down. Dang it. 1
GRiN Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 That is one monster of a tow unit. Not for city work.

I’m not a fan of the space between the exhaust and wrecker body. I am working on a storage cabinet to fill the space. 1
cifenet Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 I can see the quality work shaping things up and the wrecker is coming out fabulous!
Dutzie Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 Quick drawing in Fusion 360 and printed the extra tool/ storage boxes. Will scribe some door panels, sand, and paint this weekend. 2
David G. Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Excellent progress on this Brian! Those storage boxes will give it a nice custom built feel. David G.
The Brush Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Looks great, Thats a nice crew cab & excellent workmanship all round, Will make an eye catching display. Graham.
Dutzie Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 (edited) Finally back to the wrecker. Just a quick update. Wheels and tires are on, decking is on the wrecker body, and spare storage lockers are on for a quick mock up. Need to massage the front bumper a little. Power is out from the last round of storms, running off the generator. Have plenty of time to model for the next couple days. Hope to have more soon. Edited July 2, 2023 by Dutzie 1
Dutzie Posted July 8, 2023 Author Posted July 8, 2023 (edited) Quick update. Wrecker body is nearly finished. Decals, lights, and winches are on. Just need to add final details. I reprinted the cab and made a few dimension changes for better fit. Cab is going into paint tonight, working on interior bits as well. Edited July 8, 2023 by Dutzie
Dutzie Posted July 9, 2023 Author Posted July 9, 2023 Good night at the bench. Wrecker body is finished Added all the lights and slam locks and all the hand rails on the wrecker. Added the shift tower and linkage. I have a sheet of photo etched slam locks for the extra cabinets somewhere in this mess. 1
The Brush Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Good to see this back & coming along nicely, Impressive.

Dutzie Posted July 24, 2023 Author Posted July 24, 2023 Getting closer. Windows are in, cab tilt cylinders are on, and cab detail painting is finished. Need to work on the rest of the decals along with fitting the interior. 1
