ModelcarJR Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 This MPC kit is done. Paint is Dupli-Color Dark Toreador Metallic (DTM) and Tamiya Gloss Aluminum on the exterior and Krylon Satin Almond, Brown Boots carpeting, and DTM on the dash. Its built box stock except for the shifter and turn signal lever that I added to the steering column and mirror foil added to the outside mirrors since no chrome face was included in the kit. No interior mirror was included and I didn't have one to add. It built up OK for an MPC kit. Thanks for looking! 4
espo Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Great looking paint finish and colors. Nice clean engine.
ModelcarJR Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! ?
Chuck Most Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Probably the best example of this kit I have ever seen built. Ever. So realistic I swear I caught a whiff of that 1986 GM velour interior. ?
ModelcarJR Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks, Joe and Chuck! I appreciate your comments! I finished the motor bike so here are the photos. I painted red, black and aluminum. The assembly was very fiddly but its together. Thanks for looking! ?
'70 Grande Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Terrific build! I have this same kit in-progress but repacked into it's box because I couldn't decide how I wanted to paint it or even pick a color that I'd be happy with. It never occurred to me to go two-tone like your build with the roof color matching the lower body panels. I'll be using different colors, but I'm stealing your two-tone scheme for my build! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hmann68 Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Super nice! You knocked it out of the park with the color scheme. Very nicely done ?
NOBLNG Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Beautiful paint work! A very nice job all round.?
ModelcarJR Posted February 10, 2023 Author Posted February 10, 2023 Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! ?
slusher Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Beautiful Elcamino, John! Don’t know how I missed it..
Chuckyg1 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Nice job on this kit. Cleanly done. Looks good in the two tone.
TooOld Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Well done John , it looks great in those colors ! That Tamiya Aluminum looks better than most silver paints I've seen .
