so I started this one a while back when I thought I had messed up my 454SS. I built the chassi and cage but removed the cross bars so I could fit a second seat. But I managed to push through with the 454ss and did not continue on this build.

well I wanted to make this build happen and no it won’t be stock car racing spec since the bars are cut out and I may actually ad my 3D printed lights to it and install rear lights and run it as a “long distance” racer. Don’t know yet. But I won’t make the original livery since I am afraid of using all the original decals due to age, yellowing and all. So my plan is to use the C5R #3 decals and make a dale truck but with the modern corvette themed collors. I am thinking something similar to the zr1 launch livery since it would be possible to replicate with paint only with my skills.

since it’s cold here and expensive to heat the hose and my paint both is in a cold room many parts will be hand painted. But not the body ?

I have a bunch of the AMT and Monogram kits. An outlet store had the Monogram kits for $1.97... 40 will fill a shopping cart. I blew out a bunch on eBay some years back. I'm down to maybe a dozen and 6 of the AMT kits.

Got some done on this. Its not to any high standard. I have just been brush painting everything for the eaze of just building instead of making a big project with AB or Cans. Body is of course AB but its not done yet, My compressor from a cheap store quit on me yesterday so i ordered a new one made for general purpouse, 6l tank and low noise, 57db, for around $200 with shipping, a steal, hope it works well!

Most of the chassi is done, need to paint the seat so i can finnish the interior and then slap it together.

Body is now painted with Model Master Chevy engine red (Hugger) and will have black accents similar to the corvette shown above.

Sweet! That must have been a lucky find! Okay then you still have a couple to build! I have found a store here in Sweden, not hoby related, that have a old stock of kits and want to order more but they cost roughly what they did back when, 380SEK about 33USD.

Excellent job. too bad Salvino's doesn't give us modern truck kits like they did with the nextgen models. They are coming out with all this other stuff which is great, but I would love to do a 2024 Nascar truck.

Great build. Really like it. And...ummm...I didn't even know NASCAR truck kits existed until just now.

Guess I'm going to have to have one, as the stock version is my primary daily driver.  :D

Thanks Ace! There is both AMT and Monogram ones, the Monogram kit is realy nice and i must buy a second or third one from a swedish store that has NOS kits.

Sweet, My dad used to have a GMC Suburban of this generation until a couple of years ago. He also had square body blazers and suburbans over the years.

I have always liked this generation truck but never onwed any tryuck, i always had more use of the SUV style since there is a lot of snow and i am a Ski bum, or was, So 1999-2004 Grand Cherokee was my chosen weapon.
