Joe Nunes
So, I came downstairs to do some model work today and when I turned on my shop lights this scene greeted me…once again. Seven ongoing model projects on the tables; five you can readily see and two more being sneaky! ?? Plus, I hadn’t cleaned and put the tools away from the last session. Does it bother me? Not in the least! ?? This scenario seems to occur frequently at my house and I was wondering if it only happens here (?), or, perhaps, at other modeler’s homes too. Let’s see what greets you most of the time when you venture to your model building work area. Joe
Mike C.
Mines always worse. 14 Projects going at once. Waiting on parts for some, others just stalled. Mayhem! ? 1

TonyK
Very similar to my work bench but I always have a square foot of empty space to work. 7 projects at once is about right. I always put away my bottled paints and brushes when I am done using them each time.

Rich Chernosky
This is usually what greets me. Although often there will be at least ONE project on the bench and on very rare occasions two. Since I have a space for every tool and paint i use I always put them away. (I hate looking for tools, most modelers do so 30% of thier hobby time) I like a nice large workspace (can't stand working in clutter) and a clean workbench is just an open invitation to put something there and work on it. Which happens quite quickly. Not poking any criticism at people who work differently from me. Your hobby is to enjoy any way you see fit. It just works for me and I get things done that way.
restoman
My workspace is quite small, so clean-up is a constant, but I do have 6 or 7 builds on the go at any given time. My downstairs bench, though... it's always cluttered. Models, parts, tools, scroll saw projects, carpentry projects, car parts... you name it, you're likely to find it down there.
deuces wild
My model room is totally trashed!...?? Enough said.....? 1
Tom Geiger
My model bench is constantly covered with projects! Otherwise my wife would stack non model related stuff on it! ? 2
espo
You guys look far to organized. While I'm not as bad, I'm only working on one at a time since it's too hard to keep the parts separated and stay focused otherwise. I think it has to do with waiting for glue or paint to dry.

I agree. One at a time is definitely all that I can handle. As it is, I’ve got so many little parts scattered all over my bench for one project, that I can barely keep track of what is for what! cobraman
Mine is normally pretty tidy. I seldom work on more than one project at a time. On the rare times it does get messy I just pull the top down as my bench is a roll top desk.
Gary Chastain
So after reading this post I had to go up and just stand back and look at my work space. Yup, it’s a mess, my work space is the worst and my project storage needs attention as well. I get so use to working in my space , I just don’t see the mess.
TarheelRick
Right now I am working a project on the kitchen table. Two reasons: (1) it is too cold for these old bones in the basement, (2) my workbench is so cluttered I can't find it to use it. I have got to get down there and do some cleaning. Still not quite 100% from the knee replacement, so a bit limited as to what I can do.
StevenGuthmiller
I look at it this way. I tend to trust a mechanic with greasy hands, or a chef with a dirty apron more than ones that are spotlessly clean. Indicates to me that they know what they’re doing. ? Miatatom
I used to have multiple projects going but decided to try the one at a time approach If I get stuck on something, I might start a new one. I'm at that point right now. I have loads of space but it can get cluttered.
Gramps46
I just cleaned up my bench but usually I have more than one project going at a time. But there is a table with projects waiting plus a honey do project.

NOBLNG
Mine is a mess! But at least I can see the mess now. I just added another 3000 lumen light overhead in addition to the 5000 I already had.?
89AKurt
After seeing how sickeningly tidy some of you are, I'm not going to take an overall picture. ? My hobby room is only 4 feet wide, so I'm lucky to have enough open space for the project. That's why my WIP pictures show only the immediate area, with about 10% of the tools that were used are shown. Currently have 3 WIP in boxes on the floor, don't dare mix two or more on the bench unless I'm kit bashing. Looks like a hazmat scene at the moment, the current project when I decided to abandon the Russell Stover car. The latest upgrade was getting the LED light. Revamped my bench and paint booth 2019. This is the tidiest it's ever been. Added a LED strip light, and 2 shelves in the paint booth after this picture. So I'm not a good example. ?
