Slotto Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I picked this up a few weeks ago from our new Hobby Lobby. Lately I've really been into building prewar cars. There wasn't a whole lot to this kit but it did contain 2 complete cars. At first I bought it because of the coupe on the box top. But after I finished the frame, I started looking at the bucket body. I used the mini truck bed opposed to the turtle shell option. Mainly because I thought it would accommodate the taillights better. The body was painted with acrylic craft paint and the clear was minwax poly. The most difficult part wasn't the electronics but fishing the wires thru the base to feed the circuit. I really enjoyed building this one. I may build another one but next time have it closer to the ground I could have went all out and have crazy sounds and complete wackiness with the lights but I kept it mild and classy. The mini lights came from Amazon and the base was a wooden display box from Michael's. Showing the fan spinning here. The electronics consists of a mini Arduino, 4 lights, a buzzer for the horn, a 9v battery, jumper wires, an old remote control and of course the mini motor for the engine fan. How the sausage was made here Thanks for looking 3
espo Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Besides the beautiful paint and color, I like how you did all the lights and engine function. So cleanly detailed. 1
happy grumpy Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Sweet looking rod, nicely detailed and lights as a bonus. Love it. 1

XYHARRY Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Cool build Steve. I enjoyed following your wip. Steering wheel is a nice touch and the light show is fantastic. Cheers, David. ?? 1
David G. Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 It was fun watching this all come together in the WIP but it's great to see the finished model. Fabulous work! David G. 1
