Seeking opinions for an interior color for a 66 GTO.  I've chosen Reef Turquoise as the exterior color and wonder what would be a good match for the interior? I'm *thinking* one of the blue or turquoise interior colors but am uncertain what would be appropriate.  Was looking at the interior color chart (link below) and wondered about "Dark Bright Blue" or "Dark Turquoise" but would like to hear from folks who know better.  Thanks!

Maybe conduct a Google image search for a 1966 GTO in Reef Turquoise and in essence conduct a runoff of those restored examples outfitted with whichever color combination interiors were availed in-period.  One or two examples will likely speak to you, confirming that in certain light conditions and presented in a particular way there could be no other choice!  Good luck however you wish to proceed...

White would look nice, but it depends on if you're building factory stock. If so, check to see if white was offered.

Well, a few variations on white were indeed offered.  Which leads me to another question, are there any colors which they did NOT use with certain paint finishes?  Or did anything go with anything?

I'm pretty sure things like a blue interior wasn't available say with a green or red exterior. Best bet is to search. Type in 1966 got interior color combinations into a search.

This is my opinion:

Pontiac really was into it's color matched interiors in the 60's.

I do agree that a Parchment interior looks with Reef Turquoise (years ago I had a 1:1 65 2+2 that was Reef Turquoise with a Parchment interior).

I used to paint all my 60's interiors black or white (it always looks good), but I had shelves of noting but black and white interiors.

Now I always try to do a color other than black or white.

Parchment and white was a pretty common combination on 60s Pontiacs.

I have a 1:1 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix in "Crystal Turquoise" with a Parchment interior.

I'm not sure about the '66, but in '69, Parchment was a pearl, slightly off white color, and the general combination for most Pontiacs was parchment on the seats and door panels, with a black dash, steering wheel, carpet and console.

Sun visors and head liner matched the seats.

The White/Parchment color is a good option for most '60 Pontiacs, and yes, it was avaliable for 1966 with black trim components (carpet, IP, console)....here's how it looks with the 1966

one-year only  Pontiac exclusive color Barrier Blue....

Parchment (white) was accented with black, regardless of interior color from what I can tell.

A good way to simulate parchment is to paint the seats and door panels with Tamiya flat white, then mix a very small amount of Tamiya Titanium Gold into their clear, and airbrush it on. It's best to use an airbrush for the whole process, or spray the white from a can, and then airbrush the clear-gold mix.

By small, I'm talking about ten parts clear to one part gold, plus thinning as needed to get it through the airbrush.

Pontiac also offered a nice gold interior, Tamiya Titanium Gold, with flat and semi-gloss/satin as needed would work nicely for that. I think the carpet from what I've seen was more of a very light brown without the metallic. That would also look nice with turquoise, and would have been what was called an "acceptable" combination, so it was speical-order.
