1972coronet Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 1964 Slant Six - both the 170 and the 225 - engines are Chrysler Engine Red, with a semi-gloss black air cleaner assembly. 1
BlackSheep214 Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Yup... my.first car was a '64 Dart with a slant 6 (red engine) and push button automatic. Fun car to drive for whatever short time I owned it. I am curious. I didn't know there was a '64 Dodge Dart kit out there.

stavanzer Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I had an old (Middle 1960's) Dodge Dart. The Slant 6 was so oily and dirty that it had no real colour. Just a blackish, brownish, grayish, rusty lump. The Slant 6's in the USAF Aircraft Towing Tugs, were either dirty yellow, or faded olive drab, depending on when the tug had been built. 1
JP Lister Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 The original slant 6 block in my '64 Dodge D100 Sweptline was yellow. It was my grandfathers truck and he bough it new in '64 when I was two years old. I remember, years later, sitting on the fender well as he changed spark plugs. I remember a lot of yellow. When I pulled the block out a year ago to rebuild it, I pressure washed it. Guess what, I uncovered the original yellow paint.
