What kits have thin whitewall tires?

Maybe even decals or other type of inserts?  Trying to avoid painting.  Looking for these type.

Off the top of my head the 66 Wildcat and 63 Galaxie have them.

These are from the Moebius '65 Plymouth and Mercury kits.

Model Roundup used to sell sets of them, but I don't believe that they carry them anymore.

Now I guess you'd have to steal them from the kits.

 

Great looking and nicely sized tires.

Too bad they're not available anymore.

Round 2 seems to be making them.

The 78 dodge pick up has them and my just arrived 68 coronet conv has them.  Possibly other kits also.  These 2 and the 65 Plymouth Steve referred to are the ones I have seen.

The only issue that I have with these is the size.

Fine for full sized cars, even though they can appear a little too large in diameter even then, but they can certainly look too large for intermediate cars where a 14 inch wheel would have been the standard.

 

As Steve Andrews stated, "Modehaus Tires" has some that are probably a little better in the size department.

I just love the old Satco tires for wide whites!

They are a perfect diameter for most larger cars, and the whitewall insert is molded in such a way that it has a recess around the bead that the wheel can settle down into, eliminating the obligatory "wheel sticking out further than the tire" phenomenon.

 

Modelhaus makes a narrow whitewall adaptation of the Satco tire that looks like it would be a good option, but I have never had a set for inspection.

 

 

 

By the way, they also carry a red line version of the Satco tires as well.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the timely information provided.  I was surprised at how few model kits came with the (arguably) most popular tire of the 60’s, 70’s, and into the 80’s.

True, but one of the reasons is that over the years I have observed that the Tampo-printed thin whitewall on tires was often not properly centered on a tire, and that looks really bad.  Plus the black-wall was always an option in all the years you've mentioned.  But I agree that wo could use more options for good thin whitewall tires.

The latest AMT '58 Chevy Impala kit ('Ala-Impala' Round2 AMT1301) has skinny Firestones with a fat whitewall on one side and a white-stripe whitewall on the other.

The undesidered side can be painted over with a matt black.
