fiatboy Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Use "3M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive" aerosol. Spray it on nice and heavy and immediately dump on the Flocking.

DiscoRover007 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 I've been using spray adhesive for years. It gives much much better and realistic results than the white glue, and its a lot stronger. You just have to put a lot of time into masking the carpet off.
ctruss53 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 That seems like extra work. Just brush on elmers glue where you want the flocking and sprinkle it on. 1

White glue will give you perfect results if you do it right. I'll give you that there's more than one way to skin a cat, but that doesn't necessarily equate with "better". Steve 3
jaymcminn Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 I love this stuff when I'm using flocking. I get much better results with spray adhesive than Elmer's. I tried using it with embossing powder and it was a mess, go figure!

I just like the results with flocking and spray adhesive.

As I said, there are many different ways to achieve your objective, and do it well. Everybody has different experiences. “Much, much better” is pretty subjective. Steve 1
stavanzer Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 The "Best Technique" is the one you have mastered, that consistently gives "you" results you are happy with. Much of this hobby consists of figuring out which skill sets you can use to get the results you want. 1
Tcoat Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Oh and if using the 3M spray make sure WELL ventilated and don't use near an open flame! That stuff as a warning label about 3 pages long. 1
