White Road Commander

This is on a Chevy Titan chassis. It has a Cummins 903 out of the Ertl 4200. It will have weed burner exhaust. Drive tires are Clint Freeman.

Nice progress so far on your White.  Is this going to be a fleet truck?

Is this the recent resin release?  Looks good, I've been looking to do a White COE Eagle but can't come close to a donor cab.

Thanks guys! Yes this one is going to be a basic fleet truck belonging to Mclean Trucking.

No Warren, the new release is the Road Commander II. This is the old Road Commander based off of the old 7400 cab. I think these were originally cast in fiberglass by Jamar. The previous one that I built was fiberglass. This one appears to be a copy of a fiberglass release (not sure by who) and it was pretty rough. The good news is that it sands much easier than fiberglass, so it seems to be cleaning up pretty quickly.  I do have the new Road Commander II cab and it is very nice.

They were a handsome truck, the RC2 and are all but forgotten. They even sold them here in UK for a while in the 80s.

Thanks for the comments guys! This cab was a lot rougher than I thought. It was covered with little resin balls that looked like welding slag. I assume from air bubble holes in the mold. These sanded off pretty easily. However it was full of pin holes, I mean full. It was pretty wavy as well. It is a fleet truck though. I know that it could have been gotten smoother, but I was tired of sanding. ? So here it is with a little paint. I still have to make the interior and intake for it.

The red cab and red frame do look fantastic.  It catches the eye for sure.  It also makes the truck look very sporty without chrome trims.

Thanks Scott! Charles Rowley made the Mclean door decals for me. He does excellent work! The Mclean decals on the mud flaps are Gopher decals.
