DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 This is on a Chevy Titan chassis. It has a Cummins 903 out of the Ertl 4200. It will have weed burner exhaust. Drive tires are Clint Freeman. 4
Rockford Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Going to look good. Don't see many of these around.

Ace-Garageguy Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 (edited) Always a treat to see another fine build of a truck I know nothing about. Edited March 19, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy
Jim B Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Nice progress so far on your White. Is this going to be a fleet truck?
Warren D Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Is this the recent resin release? Looks good, I've been looking to do a White COE Eagle but can't come close to a donor cab.

Yes this one is going to be a basic fleet truck belonging to Mclean Trucking. 2 hours ago, Warren D said: Is this the recent resin release? This is the old Road Commander based off of the old 7400 cab. I think these were originally cast in fiberglass by Jamar. The previous one that I built was fiberglass. This one appears to be a copy of a fiberglass release (not sure by who) and it was pretty rough. The good news is that it sands much easier than fiberglass, so it seems to be cleaning up pretty quickly. I do have the new Road Commander II cab and it is very nice. Thanks to everyone who has commented so far!!
Rockford Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 They were a handsome truck, the RC2 and are all but forgotten. They even sold them here in UK for a while in the 80s.
vincen47 Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 What a great build. I will be sure to enjoy watching it come together.
tractoraholic Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 I'll be watching this, you build a lot of cool trucks.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 22, 2023 Author Posted March 22, 2023 Thanks for the comments guys! This cab was a lot rougher than I thought. It was covered with little resin balls that looked like welding slag. I assume from air bubble holes in the mold. These sanded off pretty easily. However it was full of pin holes, I mean full. It was pretty wavy as well. It is a fleet truck though. I know that it could have been gotten smoother, but I was tired of sanding. ? So here it is with a little paint. I still have to make the interior and intake for it. 6
Dutzie Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 The cab looks sharp in paint. The decals look great.
catpack68 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Looking good so far! Where did you get the McLean decals?
cifenet Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 The red cab and red frame do look fantastic. It catches the eye for sure. It also makes the truck look very sporty without chrome trims.
J.B. Customs Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Really like what you have done looks like it came right out of the box
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 30, 2023 Author Posted March 30, 2023 Thanks for all of the comments guys! This one is now Under Glass! 23 hours ago, catpack68 said: Looking good so far!
